First time going to Catfish Deweys with the fam. Overall, really good experience. I heard this place has been a staple for years and was happy to finally pay a visit. I ordered the catfish seafood combo, blackened. It came with two catfish fillers, scallops, shrimps and your choice of a potato side (sweet potato fries were a couple bucks extra). Overall, it was really good. Nothing over overcooked or dry, the seasoning was on point for my dish. My girlfriend had the same but with Mahi Mahi, she did say hers was a bit salty but good overall. The cost of the seafood combo was about 30 dollars (again, sweet potato fries were extra). The service was great! We were a big party and our waitress not only took our orders correctly, but was able to provide whatever we asked for (extra waters, condiments, etc), and was helpful with answering our questions. Major props to her!

Best seafood joint around! The service is amazing, and friendly. I usually go for the stone crab, but I really enjoy the catfish and the boil. So many great items on the menu for anyone that's moderately picky to choose from. I've personally never had a bad meal or experience as of yet. I highly recommend this place, especially if you want to show some out of towners how Florian's eat!

After several years of living full-time in South Florida, last night, my wife and I finally got around to trying stone crabs … and let the record show that we absolutely loved them. We’ve been lucky enough to eat seafood all over the world. I grew up fishing off the east end of Long Island and have eaten just about everything one can pull out of the ocean… yet somehow, stone crabs kept eluding us. So with the craving steadily building, Miami and the Keys would have to wait. We stayed local and headed to Catfish Dewey’s… it was a great choice. Instead of bread service, Dewey’s starts you off with hush puppies and coleslaw, which was a hit right out of the gate. We added two cold beers and then confessed to our server that we were stone-crab newbies. She smiled, leaned into the moment, and gave us a friendly crash course: how they’re sourced fresh daily, why they’re served cold, and how they’re cracked by machine (something I will need to see live at some point). We each ordered the Large Claws, two pounds (8 claws) with fries. Instinct says “compare them to lobster or king crab,” but honestly? Stone crabs stand on their own. Sweet, meaty, clean flavor. Served cold with a creamy house mustard sauce that wasn’t too “mustardy” and didn’t smother the crab flavor. I tried them with and without the sauce, and both were honestly great. The pure crab flavor really does hold up on its own. Part of me wishes I could’ve sampled them with a little melted butter just for fun, something I will need to try down the road. Bottom line: Stone Crabs — have been officially added to our seafood résumé, and Catfish Dewey’s was the perfect low-key spot to finally check this South Florida classic off our list.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. We Ordered the AUCE shrimp special for the day. The fried shrimp were jumbo, light batter, great flavor. The shrimp boil included potatoes, corn and sausage, great flavor lots of butter and garlic. Hushpuppies and coleslaw tasty and included as well, along with a side. My side was collard Greens delicious! And I was surprised to learn that AUCE catfish was included! I will definitely return when I'm in town again. I wish Jacksonville, FL had this restaurant. Service was awesome! Restaurant clean and the food was served hot! People were pouring in as we left. We're glad we got there early. Wish we had known about this place years earlier!

A must-visit spot if you’re in the area—especially during stone crab season! This family-owned gem treats you like one of their own, with a warmth that makes the experience even better. The service? Top-notch —friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. The seafood steals the show, and the unlimited stone crabs are absolutely the main event. Keep in mind, the size of the claws can vary depending on when you go in the season, but they’re always fresh and flavorful. If you’re not into crabs, don’t worry—there are hearty, generously portioned dishes that’ll hit the spot. The vibe is laid-back yet lively, perfect for a casual night out or a celebratory meal. Parking is so-so with a small lot behind the restaurant, so plan accordingly. Still, it’s 100% worth the visit. I left full, happy, and already planning my next trip.

I come here about once a year when I’m visiting Fort Lauderdale. It’s a busy local neighborhood seafood joint with casual service and some fantastic all you can eat daily specials. I came on Tuesday night and had AYCE peel and eat shrimp, fried shrimp, catfish, hush puppies, and collard greens. The service was quick and attentive.

Haven't been in many years. The staff were kind and had great customer service. The food was mid. The shrimp and grits were hearty, the veggies were cut too large for my taste, plenty of shrimp and sausage. The grits were good consistency but needed salt. The garlic butter sauce was bland and didn't add to crab. Frog legs and sauce were tasty. Pleasant experience.
